Hillery is always opinionated, sometimes a writer, and most recently a Maitre’D. She’s worked for major publishing houses and a couple of fancy restaurants. Hillery used to write criticism, when asked by her journalist friends, but her assessments were hardly objective and never hard hitting. And then it is a rumor, an utterance, a murmur; a migrated whisper without history or sequence. And all the happy endings of all the short stories cannot begin to answer what cannot be said.
